Thank you for contacting me. I am pleased to learn of your efforts to help preserve the history of Las Vegas and educate Las Vegans about their city's past.
As the fastest growing state in the union, Nevada faces great challenges in the field of historic preservation. During my time in Congress I have worked to protect some of Nevada 's important and endangered places. Just last year I was able to secure a $300,000 Save America 's Treasures grant to restore historic buildings in Goldfield. I have also been proud to help protect and restore Pipers Opera House and the Fourth Ward School in Virginia City , the Old Las Vegas Post Office, and many other spots around our great state.
