YEAR-ROUND EDUCATION

With being in charge of well over 400,000 students, the Clark County School District is always seeking inexpensive educational field trip destination points.

Through the creation of the 'Railroad Heritage Park' and in partnership with the District, a variety of budget conscious opportunities shall be provided to enhance a student's core educational requirements as students progress through their standards-based core curriculum. Curriculum development and tours for grades 3 to 5, 6 to 8 and 9 to 12 shall be provided. Special emphasis shall be provided for 6th and 8th graders as significant linkage has been established between successful core skill development within these grades and student retention.

The "Railroad Heritage Park' shall develop programs and activities in such a way to promote levels of youth development with a sense of security, personal identity, social skills, values, morals, and skill development needed to foster healthy and productive citizens.

CLASSES FOR ADULTS AND YOUTH

Local youth & hobbyists of all age groups will also be able to learn the craft of machining, wood working and uncountable other hands-on educational classes, which will be taught by the masters of each field inside the Railroad Heritage Park.

We are also determined to offer educational programs for young parents, that focus on uncountable children and youth oriented problem issues, in order to help create positive solutions. We offer year-round job shadowing oportunities for youth shadowing opportunities for youth in our railroad station; museum food court and mining town, in order to help pave the way for a positive future for many local children. Here are some examples.....

1] RAILROAD PARK EDUCATION & SAFETY: Technical, mechanical hands-on study groups for youth and adults; safety rules, education about the park's track route, about live steam, railroad history...

2] BUSINESS CLASSES: We already practiced educational business classes throughout 2009 and need an educational facility now to continue with those valuable classes and business seminars for young business professionals....

3] MUSIC FOR THE SOUL: As we have said from the very beginning: The Las Vegas Railroad Society is very interested in performing arts and year-round talent search, since music is part of our town's culture & daily life....

4] WOOD SHOP PASSION: For those who yearn to learn woof carving, we are delighted to make our woodshop available, teaching skills from yesteryear and of today.

8] CREATIVE KIDS: We will also incorporate year-round craft programs for children and adults, which is extremely important to us! Developing children's creative skills will help them in more ways than one, stimulating their minds, thus, exposing their core talents which they are born with, and can now develop at an early age in the new facilities at the 'Railroad Heritage Park'. Yes, it's about trains, but we offer so much more......
