WISDOM OF PHILANTHROPY

Philanthropy is a noble word! Investing time for research when deciding to donate to a specific cause is not all that complicated.

     - The right answers to just 3 simple questions can provide you with enough information
and the confidence that your donated funds will indeed be used wisely.

QUESTION #1]

IS YOUR DONATION TRULY TAX DEDUCTIBLE:

     - Find out if the charity of your choice is recognized by the IRS as a 501 c3 charity.
     - This 'magic' number is the only number which enables you to truly deduct your donated
dollars; pro bono or gift support from your taxes.

QUESTION #2]

HOW ARE FUNDS BEING USED:

     - Does your potential favorite charity handle donated funds wisely?
     - Is the Charity loyal to its own mission statement; public announcements
       and services?
     - Check newspaper articles from time to time to find out

ANSWER TO QUESTION #3]

UNDERSTANDING A CHARITY'S OVERHEAD EXPENSES:

     - Last but not least, are the charity's employees overpaid, fairly paid, or underpaid?

A] Every charity in our nation has paid staff and a certain amount of volunteers, which
          is the norm.
B] Every charity in our valley needs operating funds for paying their employees, for
office expenses, utilities and various legitimate overhead expenses, just like a business.
C] Here is the formula: The IRS says, that charity employees must receive fair salaries
and/or wages which they would also receive at a similar job, outside the charity.
D] As long as a charity operates with respecting those guidelines, it is safe to donate to
such a charity, because such support will enable them to offer community support and
education for the community where needed.

Professional, caring and experienced staff is equally important in a not-for-profit charity, as in a 'for profit' business. Working people need to get paid, they have a family to support and most likely a house payment and/or; car payments, etc.

Overpaid charity employees hurt a charity's fundraising efforts and reputation, thus, donors eventually will seek out charities who obey the IRS 'rule of thumb' when it comes to salaries and wages, which very much demonstrates, that wise donors are very much in charge when it comes to helping a charity, or not helping charities.

CHOOSING A FAVORITE CHARITY

Asking the local community about local charity's reputation may be another route. (The IRS audits a nonprofit organization's books once a year after a $25,000 donation, that's a good thing!)

Once all your questions are answered satisfactory from various sources, then you can make a good choice to adopt the charity in question as your favorite charity, perhaps even committing to monthly or yearly donations!

Giving wisely is quite a responsibility, to say the least while inspiring others to follow your foot steps.

'What Happens in Las Vegas' Needs to be Admired by the Entire World! Your charity support will also demonstrate to our local tourists, that with combined efforts, neighborhoods in 'Sin City' Las Vegas actually do care about their local children and other important causes, which is indeed Las Vegas' best kept secret!

IN CASE YOU ARE CONSIDERING TO SUPPORT THE LVRRS

MARKETING: Eventually the 200 acre live-steam railroad park will be advertised around the globe with world-wide broadcasted TV documentaries and in travel magazines, etc., thus, corporate donors will receive well-deserved global name recognition. Over time, Las Vegas' newest addition of a Smithsonian-type 'Railroad Heritage Park' will be truly enjoyed by millions of locals and tourists!

DONATE/ SPONSOR: Local teachers have run out of field trip options. We welcome your tax deductible donation, because you and other caring individuals like you help us create this much needed field trip Mecca; thus, enabling us to offer uncountable year-round-active educational program activities and train rides to all physically challenged local children groups and to over 400,000 students of our local schools.

YOUR FAVORITE CHARITY: Even if you already have a favorite children's charity, please consider helping our cause, because indirectly your favorite children charity and many, many other wonderful local children charities will also benefit from your wisely donated dollars, making it money well spent, plus you receive your 100% tax deduction.

One day a grandchild, perhaps your own grandchild will see its family name on a walkway, building, or on a historic structure inside the year-round-active 'Railroad Heritage Park'. At that moment, that child's unexplained feeling, that legacy, may be the catalyst towards a philanthropic life. These grandchildren and their grandchildren shall remember the family stories and will know why philanthropy is so important, and not just that someone made a donation a long time ago......
