Because, children all throughout the United States enjoy their live-steam railroad museum and park facilities, provided by THEIR local governments and supported by their local communities and business communities.

LAS VEGAS' NEW FIELD TRIP MECCA

One local teacher commented during our meeting with a City Councilman saying: "When I decided to take my students on an educational field trip, I quickly ran out of option, taking them to the New York - New York Hotel instead." To which the LVRRS President replied: "Las Vegas, do we need to say more?!"

RAILWAY PRESERVATION

The railway preservation movement began entirely with a concerted effort of volunteers to convince corporate and civic groups that preservation of posterity was important. Railroad artifacts, documents, equipment and structures are all part of this heritage. The stewardship of these historic collections is imperative, because many valuable relics throughout the country have been ravaged by time and vandals, or by deliberate destruction.

boyserina2.jpg Railroad museums around the world appreciate the importance of the era of live steam; the contributions and community development it provided to society. Educational displays and train related activities remind us of bygone days.
Parents still hold up their babies to view a "choo-choo" train as it speeds by an intersection. Children are still fascinated by its size, its power and its ability to move up and over mountains and all over the world. Young children still love getting a train in their Christmas stocking. The train is timeless, no matter what the size!    RRKid3.jpg
I_hopeYouWill.jpg

The 'Railroad Heritage Museum' will become the caretaker of Las Vegas' and Southern Nevada's railroad history; developing information and programs to educate the public about the significant impact that the train and rail have had upon their lives.

YesWeSupportTheCause.jpg

The LVRRS organizes and incorporates volunteer groups and 'community spirit' in its day-to-day affairs and events, seeking to enhance children's enjoyment of the train even further.

Technology and construction will be ongoing until the trains are on their tracks and the engineers take the first run. There is no other urban railroad park like this one with its uncountable educational children and senior programs and family opportunities in Southern Nevada. Year-round education and technology will team in this park to make an attraction never before tried or developed!

.

WHO IS THE LAS VEGAS RAILROAD SOCIETY?
.
The LV Railroad Society is a blend of enthusiastic local live steamers, loyal volunteers and caring families with a big heart. They are fathers, mothers, grandfathers and grandmothers who care deeply about Las Vegas' railroad history, community and its children. Las Vegas grew and thrived because of the trains, and we will see to it that nobody forgets that very fact.
.
VOLUNTEER TIME INVESTED INTO THIS PROJECT
 .
After analyzing carefully, we realized that due to our compassion to preserve Las Vegas' railroad history, and to improve the quality of life for all our local children, LVRRS officers & volunteers dedicated nonstop approximately 60,000 volunteer hours into this project between 1999 and 2010 to move this project to where it is today.
