EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM ACTIVITIES: Railroad & Mining History
The LVRRS will soon offer train rides and educational field trips to all local schools and local special children and youth groups. We are just about to create a beautiful and magical environment......
Local school's most favorite field trips? Every child will agree with one voice:
"The Las Vegas Railroad Society Museum! Can we go there again soon?"
School busses will come to the 'Railroad Heritage Park',
learning will be absolutely limitless!
We have a wealth of information. If we deny railroad history to our children, it will go away, and we won't allow that! There are not enough museums that save this kind of information. And local parents all throughout this valley absolutely agree with us.
The train journey will lead through a 200 acre of various park facilities, offering a safe, comfortable and slow, yet quite adventurous ride. We plan to provide also wheelchair-accessible railroad cars. Without exception, everyone will be able to enjoy this awesome railroad environment.....
RAILROAD BRIDGES AND TRESTLES: The trains will traveling through a variety of railroad tunnels; going around the bend of miniature mountains, underneath tall trees, providing shade, and shrubs will soften the desert landscape along the way. Schools, special children groups and entire families will enjoy riding the trains, crossing many railroad bridges and trestles to conquer uneven terrain.......

Steam powered trains will take passengers over smaller railroad bridges, crossing a pond, passing a beautiful waterfall. '
All passengers aboard the train will get to enjoy the stunning beauty of majestic Weeping Willows, swaying gently in the breeze. Las Vegas will never be the same again. At last, just like many other cities, Las Vegas will also own a real 'Railroad Adventure Land' demonstrating how steam powered trains conquered yesterday's long journeys, delivering goods to growing communities and so much more... |
LANDSCAPE
A marvelous mixture of necessary fast growing trees will be planted next to the railroad tracks providing shade for a joyful and pleasant ride.
BIG AND TALL TREES: As the years go on, planted trees will grow into beautiful majestic and matured trees which will provide extremely important and healthy life-giving oxygen for our ever so busy town!
FLOWERS & BLOSSOMS THROUGHOUT THE PARK: Spring will deliver the beauty of a huge variety of blooming trees, sweet smelling native flowers, blooming bushes and rose bushes which will undoubtedly cheer our hearts and will give us an emotional jump start for what lies ahead for all of us, throughout the rest of the year.
Wild flowers to the left and to the right along railroad tracks will catch the people's attention and it will make them realize, that the desert can be a beautiful and colorful place. Special fruit trees and various herbs within Las vegas' new educational Botanical Garden will also inspire and teach local folks once more, that the desert can be valuable fruitful ground.
Wild singing birds will move into the lush green oasis in the desert, trying to cool off in the provided small ponds and in tree branches during the hot summer month. Bird watchers will have a field day at the park. It will be a wonderful sanctuary, enjoyed by neighbors who live close by, and by anyone who appreciates nature.
Natural beauty of blossoms and flowers will only remind us to take a deep breath, ....count our blessings, ....and to 'quiet' our stressful thoughts... It will be a sanctuary for families, seniors and everyone in-between. What a place it will be........
Authentic looking and also functional water towers and replica 'gas' lanterns will be placed throughout the railroad park for our live-steam locomotives, just adding more ambiance. It will be everyone's home away from home.
The LVRRS' plan is to to mix new technologies within a 'green' energy-efficient environmentally friendly and mostly solar powered facility.
